Chapter Two – Love Thy Neighbour
June 27, 2009 by speckypeck
Well it’s not much to look at but at least I’ll have a roof over my head.

As I was knew to the area, I thought I might take the chance to meet my neighbours. I consider myself a rather friendly person and easy to get along with others. The idea of having friends close by had me bristling with optimism. I can’t wait!

The first house I visited was a majestic mansion. Such a beautiful home. I hope to one day have a similar house. I met the head of the house, Nick Alto. Nick was of stout build clothed to dominate in pinstripes with a menacing stare. I greeted Nick with as much charisma as I could muster but it was not hard to see immediately the disdain blazing from Nick’s eyes.

Nick snarled that it was a disgrace such a shambled wreck of a shack could have been allowed to be erected in this neighbourhood and recommended to me a close colleague of his that could remove it for a fair price. He complained of plummeting property values brought upon by my arrival and said I would not be welcome around here. I didn’t bother a response despite the smoldering anger I felt within and knew this wasn’t over. I glared at Nick and bid him good day

The other address adjacent to me was also a fine home of exceptional quality. A rather stately manor, it conjured images of royalty and elegance steeped in tradition. I had a still small voice inside me suggesting that my reception here also may not be hospitable.

I was met by Nancy Landgraab. A stylish attractive woman adorned with sensuality covered by ice cold ambition. Nancy’s manner towards me was polite but somewhat terse. Nancy remarked with a hint of sarcasm that she had noticed a cute little tool shed had been placed on my property for the builders I must be calling in. I knew she meant my house. It felt as if she had looked me over and dismissed me as insignificant. I believe Nancy viewed people as tools to achieving her own personal gain and I had nothing to offer.

It’s true, my home is an embarrassment. I know that. Who could blame someone for even mistaking it as an out-house. But that’s no excuse for prejudice. So you think you know me Nick Alto and Nancy Landgraab and I am to be judged upon my material possessions. Do you think I would slither away spineless to cower and be in awe of what you have? Your contempt only drives me more!
A plan is formulating. It is time to put my technical and scientific talents to use. I shall work unwavering day and night to hone my skills and to further my knowledge. For knowledge is power. And power and affluence will be mine!
To be continued…

Love your legacy so far! Can’t wait for the next chapter! Definitely putting this one on my blogroll.
Great 2 starters.
Leaves me wanting to know more. Looking forward to it.
Well written! And you have gotten some really great shots. I wish I had that good of timing.
haha~~~
The lot, 15 Summer Hill Court, is too expensive to buy other objects.
This story is more interesting.
And so the plot (no pun intended) thickens. LOL What lousy neighbors, too. Can’t wait to see how things progress.
Well done!
